My Daily Skincare Routine

My skincare routine has changed A LOT throughout the years. I had acne growing up that I mean, wasn't the worst, but it definitely felt like it. Even into my mid twenties I struggled! I have combination skin, and this time of year is always up in the air with the seasons changing.

You guys might know that over the last few years I've switched to non-toxic skincare, which has been an amazing change! The only downside is that there are SO many products out there that claim to be "better" and I've tried many, many of them. Some have proven amazing, and some not so great. After all of my struggles over the years, I have finally nailed down my skincare routine and I wanted to share all of this with you. If you've been looking to switch over to clean skincare, but either haven't tried yet or have and haven't had any luck finding good products, I hope you find this post helpful!

It can be tough to want to switch over to clean skincare for a few reasons. One being the sheer number of products to sift through, and two being that most products are really expensive. I for one am pretty frugal and hate spending money when I don't need to. I've made exceptions in the past and purchased luxurious products thinking that these little glass jars of magic would take all my worries away in one go. And yeah, we all know that's simply not the case. I wanted to help you guys out and share my go-to products that I've been testing and using for several months now, in hopes that it saves you all some time and money!

I'll preface this by saying that I have combination skin (oily T-zone and normal everywhere else) and sensitive skin that is prone to acne if I use the wrong products. Let's take coconut oil, for example. WHY IS IT IN SO MANY CLEAN SKINCARE PRODUCTS?! I bought the RMS coconut oil makeup remover a couple of years ago, and my skin totally broke out and I couldn't figure out why. I researched coconut oil only to find out that it can clog your pores. So, if you have sensitive skin like me, maybe stay away from that! In the past I've had some acne scarring, so I like to use some products that fade dark spots (my scars are gone now but I continue using it as a preventive measure in case I do get the occasional pimple). Being in my late twenties, I am also starting to be cognitive of aging and I've been reaching for products that are anti-aging and brightening. I don't use an eye cream, because I believe that they are more of a glorified moisturizer. Sometimes I will use my argan oil and put a tiny bit on the corners of my under-eyes if they feel dry.

Okay, onto my routine we go!
